Data Protection

As you will be using a computer to hold personal data (names and addresses) you must be registered on the Data Protection Register. If you are not registered call the Registration helpline on 01625 545745.

Use the data properly

All companies holding personal data must notify the Data Protection Commissioner and comply with the eight Data Protection Principles which are:

  • The data must be processed fairly and lawfully
  • The data can only be obtained for specified and lawful purposes and processed in a manner compatible with those purposes
  • The data held must be adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the purposes for which they are processed
  • The data must be accurate and where necessary kept up to date
  • The data must not be kept longer than is necessary
  • The data shall only be processed in accordance with the rights of data subjects under the 1998 Act
  • Appropriate technical and organisational measures must be taken against unauthorised or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss, destruction or damage to personal data
  • Personal Data shall not be transferred outside of the EEA unless there is adequate protection for the rights and freedoms of the data subject

Data Protection Act 1998

In order to protect the rights of individuals and to ensure appropriate use of information, Jigsaw7 fully supports and complies with the laws of Data Protection.

As a data buyer and processor, you are obliged to be familiar with the laws affecting data, and to process data in an appropriate manner. If you decide to purchase information from Jigsaw7, you are obliged to adhere to our terms and conditions.
